Veggie Annie’s Skillet: Kitchen Witch Hot Cocoa
Unusually delicious, quick-and-easy meat / vegetarian / vegan recipes for everyone.
Ok, beloveds, the days are getting shorter and colder, which means it’s time for some magical cocoa!
Thanks to my lovely friend, Charis Bean Duke, for posting about this Veggie Annie cocoa recipe! A chilly morning is a perfect time to stir up this hot deliciousness. ❤️
(Remember that magic is mostly about intention, and if you are missing any of these ingredients, you can feel confident making substitutions while holding your intentions!)
Veggie Annie’s Kitchen Witch Spiced Hot Cocoa
Serves 2, takes 10 minutes
Gluten-free
Dairy-free options
1/8 cup unsweetened cocoa powder or raw cacao powder, to open your heart and connect you to divine spiritual wisdom
1/4 cup sugar, for summoning money and love
3 tablespoons water, symbolizing life
1/4 teaspoon salt, to purify and create protective boundaries
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg, for attracting prosperity
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, for increasing personal and spiritual power
2 cups milk, dairy or non-dairy, for nurturing and protection
1/4 cup heavy cream, for wealth (non-dairy people can skip this and just whisper a little prayer - this is magic, and intention is everything!)
2 teaspoons vanilla, for love and restoring lost energy
2 teaspoons grated orange zest, for abundance, creativity and energy
Combine cocoa, sugar, water and spices together in a pan over medium-high heat, whisking constantly, until it boils.
Whisk one more minute while boiling, turn heat down to medium and add milk (and cream, if using.) Whisk gently until very hot, not letting the mixture boil.
Remove from heat, add vanilla and orange zest. Serve right away. Settle yourself at the table, wrap your hands around your mug, sip, and take in the magic.
